Garcinia cambogia
Garcinia cambogia from Thailand: capsules, tea and coffee for appetite control
Garcinia cambogia (som khaek) is a Thai fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), studied for reducing appetite and carbohydrate-to-fat conversion. In Thailand it is a common ingredient of pharmacy weight-control products. About 20 items: Herbal One, Thanyaporn and Khaolaor capsules, Be-Fit senna-garcinia complexes, garcinia tea sachets, Preaw Cleoxla coffee with garcinia and prune, Khaolaor K-form and L-form, Donutt Daitally.
How to choose
Fewer sugar cravings — pure garcinia (Herbal One or Thanyaporn), 1–2 capsules 30–60 minutes before meals for 4–8 weeks. Constipation and heaviness — a senna complex (Be-Fit), but no longer than 1–2 weeks. Dislike capsules — garcinia tea or Preaw coffee in the morning. Garcinia works only together with a calorie deficit and exercise; it does not burn fat by itself.
Good to know
Garcinia is a dietary supplement, not a weight-loss medicine. Contraindicated in pregnancy, breastfeeding, under 18, liver disease, diabetes on medication (it lowers blood sugar) and with SSRI antidepressants. Senna complexes cause bowel dependence with long use. Do not exceed the dose on the pack; stop and see a doctor if you get abdominal pain, nausea or yellowing. Only Thai pharmacy brands with declared ingredients are listed.
